Imagine you are in your Mum’s tummy. Your Mum is having a hard time because she already has two children to look after. She is feeling constantly stressed, overwhelmed and unsupported and so she becomes anxious not knowing how she will cope with a 3rd baby. You sit tight in the womb growing every day feeling this anxiety and stress. You internalise this and subconsciously feel scared and anxious about the world.  You develop a core belief (that will guide all you do in life) that the world is not safe and you are not wanted. You don’t realise that these anxieties are your Mum’s feelings - you don’t realise you are watching someone else’s life movie. So you grow up to believe that bad things will happen to you and no one will ever really love you. To prove that this is your life story, that this is your movie, you are attracted to friends and partners who abuse your trust and you subconsciously put yourself in situations that are not safe to be in. The more you prove your core belief to yourself the more you take on your Mother’s ‘movie’.
